On Regis

Liev appeared as a guest on Live with Regis and Kathy Lee on Monday, January 31, 2000. One of our own site members, Dawn, was there to capture the interview with her camera.  Also, as an added treat, Dawn found out that her sister had FedExed a letter to Regis and Kathy Lee, detailing some of the ordeals Dawn had been through in the past couple years and how much meeting Liev would mean to her. During a commercial break, Liev came out into the audience and spent a few minutes with Dawn.

So, without further fanfare, here it is in Dawn's own words:

Before I get started on the tidbits of what went on at Live with Regis & Kathy Lee, I would like to say thanks to Angie for being so dedicated and having such a great website.  Also, for being such a compassionate and caring person and friend.

Thank you to all the members who have sent their well wishes, kind words and prayers.  They are greatly appreciated!  Thanks for sharing my day with me too!

Thanks to my sister Sheri who wrote the letter to Liev and talked to Regis.

And a huge thanks to Liev for being a really great person.

With all of that out of the way here's the details of what went on and what was said for those of you who didn't get to see the show or read the letter in the forum.  On Monday, January 31st, my sister and I went to see Live with Regis & Kathy Lee because Liev was going to be there to promote Scream 3. He discussed his Mom's nickname for him (actually Regis brought it up) and how he wanted to be the first Jewish James Bond and Superman, as well as an elevator operator or dentist because he likes to push buttons!  Regis also discussed how his name is correctly pronounced.

When they cut to commercial break Regis pointed me out and Liev came over and asked how I was feeling.  When I gave him a puzzled look my sister said she wrote a letter and FedExed to him and talked to Regis.  I told him what an awesome actor he is and he thanked me, then we talked like I've known him for years.  He is so down to earth!!  I have met a great deal of actors and actresses in my life because I have been involved in different aspects of the business and let me tell you, he is by far the nicest guy there is. A really nice member of the audience asked if we wanted him to take a picture of us and Liev said sure. Then he had to run back to his seat because they were going back to the show.  I heard him talk to Regis about his deal to not die in Scream.  I'm not sure if that was applicable to Scream 3 or not.  He also told him how much he hates horror movies, which he repeated on air.

When they came back from commercial they discussed Scream 3, he talked about how much he hates horror movies because they "scare the piss out of him."  He looked slightly jumpy when they showed the clip of the movie.  Which is always amusing to see a 6'3" man get jumpy from a horror movie! That was about it for the interview because they were running kind of late. :(

It would have been cool for them discuss his other rolls other than Scream, but hey, what can you do? Well, that's about it.  I would like to say, I wish Liev nothing but the best things in the world.  He is so sweet how could anyone not wish him well?

My sister Sheri and I before the show.  She wrote the
letter to Liev.  Sheri, your awesome, thanks
for everything.  Love ya!

These pics were taken as soon as they broke  for a
commercial and right before Liev came over to talk.
I really need a digital camera! LOL

Although this one came out kind of fuzzy. Liev was looking
over because my sister yelled, "Liev, your the best".  He said thank
you and then came over when Regis pointed me out.

Liev and I talking during the break.  He asked how I was feeling
and when I  looked puzzled he explained my sister wrote the letter and
talked to Regis.  I told him what an awesome actor he is and then we just chatted
in general.  He is by far the nicest person I have ever met in the business.
Look at the audience!  It never crossed my mind that people were watching
or I probably would have died!

A member of the audience was nice enough to take a picture of
Liev, my sister and I.  Sheri is in the front, I'm in the back.
